A strong belief in the both the physical and psychological benefits of Pilates led Posie to train and qualify as a teacher with Body Control Pilates, becoming a member of the Body Control Pilates Association and the Register for Exercise Professionals (Level 3).
Having always been a fitness enthusiast, she started practising Pilates on a daily basis as a result of a skiing accident. After a year of poor rehab she sought 1:1 Pilates lessons as a last resort to cure her debilitating back and knee pain. Within weeks she couldn’t believe the difference it made not only to her symptoms but her overall mental and physical wellbeing and has consequently never felt stronger, fitter and able to throw her hand at any sports!
She teaches group mat classes, corporate classes and private sessions all over London. Her classes are flowing, dynamic and energetic whilst always bearing in mind the rehabilitative aspect of Pilates for pain prevention. She is absolutely passionate about the benefits of Pilates giving the perfect balance of toning, core strength and flexibility and truly believes she can help you to reach your goals.
What is Pilates
Pilates is a series of low impact exercises aimed to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing. It is designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, balance and posture whilst enhancing mental awareness. Pilates also helps with spine articulation and is a great discipline for rehabilitation and pain prevention.
Pilates is designed for everyone regardless of their age or fitness level. It literally teaches you to be in control of your body, allowing you to handle stress more effectively and achieve relaxation more easily. Your body awareness is heightened by bringing together mind and body, In the words of Joseph Pilates, the German physical trainer notable for having invented and promoted the Pilates method of physical fitness: ‘The mind, when housed with a healthy body, possesses a glorious sense of power’.
